another bad day for open source

One of the hallmarks of a good open source project is just how complicated it is to install, configure and maintain. Happily gitlab and the git experience has been exactly one of those. There is nothing like a failure to authenticate an SSL certificate in the middle of a basic upgrade.

“we” have always said that open source puts the ownership and cost on the company. That commercial software was an insurance policy with distributed ownership and support.
