It’s 2020 and some talking head is saying that after a decade the cranky 10x programmer is dead.
That sort of statement is chalk full of missing information…
- at some point
l33t programmers are going to put in their 10K hours and rise to management. It’s inevitable. Then they become cranky managers.
- at some point these programmers ended up in the
dot com boom and managed to get out.
- the market for programmers is now so large that people who do not have the right education or aptitude have entered the workforce.
- which has effected the compensation and those same smart people are looking for something else to do.
- not to be confused with evolution; corporate culture has been poisoned by millennials.
It’s going to be an interesting year!
