I’m not certain what I did that the “algorithm” knew to share a video of the Nvidia CEO (Huang) telling an audiance that AI is the result of making “programming” accessible… contrary to the long held advice “everyone shoule learn to program”.
First of all just think about how much information Google has on us. We cannot function in the internet without them and they make enough money for search to be profitable. Google search works because of the game theory about hosting a website and wanting traffic so advertising thru search.
I suppose one could replace the algorithm with an AI and that might have some sort of an offsetting value and we’ve already heard about the results when companies and politicians look at the meta data.
Most technology businesses fall into a few categories… general purpose where there is no real intellectual property… and other businesses with deep IP such that competition is restricted by the cost of entry.
could AI generate a Twitter repalcement?
I was discussing a business idea with a friend of mine… we wanted to build a Uber-like businesses for towtrucks. The cost of entry is “build uber”, market, and hope we get paid. I cannot say the building it was the biggest cost but it is labor intensive.
could AI generate an Uber replacement?
I’ve been a professional programmer for nearly 40 years. I’ve longed for the day when my programming interface was simple enough for the smallest computers and generating useful results. TThere are many problems with this idea. First of all if I was able to build something that simple that the CEO could do the work then there would be a techtonic shift in the workplace. Secondly, while looking at frameworks like “scratch” even though the UI is simple and interesting the blocks are still too primitive.
Right now… AI is all about marketing and letting the AI have your IP.
