Camping gear is so subjective because it depends what the “mission” is. Are you camping with the family, stealth camping, hunting, hiking, etc? When I started camping it was simply family and friends so cutting corners was no big deal. Then I started thinking about Ultra light weekends and long distance and I could afford to cut fewer corners… I’ve spent a great deal of money but as my late father would say “it’s just an hobby”.
