Canonical Ubuntu Microcloud Lxd Microceph Microovn

Posted at — Jun 20, 2024

I’ve been trying to get my lab environment back into shape and it has not been working.

it has been a day of complaints

Remembering my challenges with docker swarm I’m having similar problems with microcloud. Once the configuration is damaged it’s not possible to purge and redeploy. So forget it. It’s trash.

Ceph would have been interesting but it’s also a shared network thing… guess what? If it’s so simple to manage then why would Canonical offer ceph management as a service. Weird?

Here we are again… just use OpenBSD and a NFS/NAS with optional jails/chroot. And call it a day. Make it too complicated and you’ll lose a lifetime.
