Microsoft: We're creating a new Rust-based programming language for secure coding

“Embrace, extend, extinguish” – I attribute that quote to a friend of mine. It could be someone else’s, however, we use it to describe what Microsoft did to Java in the 80s/90s. Now we use it to describe what Microsoft might do to Rust in 2020.

But then there is Mozilla, the creator and maintainer of Rust… which means that all that java crap like generics might be added (you’ll have to be aware the Mozilla is dominated by Java code). And then there is Redox OS which is a Unix like OS based on Rust.
