It’s another one of those days when I tried to install OpenBSD on my HP-DEV-ONE. The HP was designed and sold as a pop_os development machine. I used it for quite a while with an external display and was happy. But then just before HP discontinued the product something happened to pop_os so that it could not be updated. Some sort of cache partition was no longer big enough. As a result I stopped using the machine. This weekend I tried to install OpenBSD and that went OK except the wifi hardware is not supported. We are in the future and so unsupported, even OpenBSD, hardware is no longer ok.

ChromeOS is still better

But let’s face it… ChromeOS is still the better solution. There is simply no reason to use a MacBook, Windows, Linux etc…. The issue is that it’s just so easy to jank a laptop… all you really need is a network connection, VPN, ssh, and browser.

Moving on… again.
