Down to the Wire

Now that my hpdevone and all of the ChromeBooks work just fine with my external USB monitors it’s time to decide what’s next. Sure I can wander between the systems almost seemlessly but it’s just not all that smooth.

Lenovo Duet 5

Lenovo C13 Yoga

Google Pixel

Conclusion

Someone recently reminded me… “if I leave my Chromebook on the train or drop it in a puddle I can be up and running in 10 minutes after going to a bigbox store and buy a replacement.” Now 10 minutes is a bit of an exageration when you have copious data in a Linux container but it’s reasonably safe nonetheless.

Update

I’ve been testing my development bootstrap notes for ChromeOS systems and it failed in several ways. The biggest part of the fail is that I could not install the golang compiler (ver 1.20) because it depends on at least go version 1.17?? in order to bootstrap it. Since the current version in the ChromeOS repo is 1.15 the deploy failed.
