golang and vim where are you now

It appears that the Go team has removed the vim syntax highlighting files from their source. Subsequently a 3rd party took over… and then recently he gave up and everyone seems to be moving over to vim-go or maybe it’s go-vim.Upon reflection this project is a poison of a sort.First and foremost the project depends on a package manager for vim. And then there are the 5-10 packages you also need to install as dependencies; and depending on the specifics you might be running the wrong version of vim the deps might require lua and/or ruby. And that’s just for starters. So simple syntax highlighting seems to be off the table (from the go authors). Luckily for me there are a number of other choices even though the terminal editor might be a thing of the past.
