I’m always sensitive to where my data is. Whether it’s in the cloud or on my laptop, flash drive, or NAS etc… However, given my experience in the financial sector I have been exposed to PCI, HIPPA, SOX, ISO and a few other privacy and security audits. So while I consider my project to move my entire electronic life to Google Apps I was gratified to see these two articles: (link) (video). I hope I did not misunderstand anything…NOTE: At this point the only problem with moving to a chromebook existence is that there is still something gratifying and warming about having my own servers. If things go south I can power them off, disconnect them from the internet, manage my own expectations and so on. The only downside is that I need to monitor them more than I want; starving my other projects of my time. (valuable or not). The cobbler’s kids are shoeless and the emperor has no clothes.
