Google Docs does compliance

I’m always sensitive to where my data is. Whether it’s in the cloud or on my laptop, flash drive, or NAS etc… However, given my experience in the financial sector I have been exposed to PCI, HIPPA, SOX, ISO and a few other privacy and security audits. So while I consider my project to move my entire electronic life to Google Apps I was gratified to see these two articles: (link) (video). I hope I did not misunderstand anything…

NOTE: At this point the only problem with moving to a chromebook existence is that there is still something gratifying and warming about having my own servers. If things go south I can power them off, disconnect them from the internet, manage my own expectations and so on. The only downside is that I need to monitor them more than I want; starving my other projects of my time. (valuable or not). The cobbler’s kids are shoeless and the emperor has no clothes.
