Google seems to be taking a page from the Apple/Steve Jobs playbook. Make a desireable product. Charge a lot for it. Make it indispensible. Then lock the customer in.

• no more free domain accounts
• incomplete interop with their other products
• rope in legacy hardware (Google Flex)
• migrate from linux to something else (Fuchsia)
• give awa breadcrumbs like generics in golang
• custom hardware like tensor in phones

Android has mindshare planet wide. There is no need for this crap. ChromeOS while getting bad press lately in google classroom is a self inflicted wound. (do no evil; billion dollar code)

I want an alternative. They all suck.
