Android and iOS tablets are still toys compaired to modern operating systems solutions. I suppose Android and iOS are modern in a sense but the hardware they run on is still kind of limited. Only recently has Apple ramped up their desktop-like appearance. And while Samsung did offer DEX for a while it never took hold and as of today the best we can do is side-by-side split screen. And that is still klunky even with the modern horsepower. The underlying framework is nothing but a java app and that has never been a complete solution even though Google owns the entire stack.
Part of the challenge is that “view” in the tablet world is basically a sub 13inch display. That’s about the boundary where one transitions from tablet to laptop. While a 7in screen is great for watching video in a plane, train, auto… it’s terrible when editing source code and even reading logfiles.
