vanity internet domains

Posted at — Oct 24, 2019

Back in the early days of the internet there were a group of savvy engineers and business people who essentially squatted on domain names waiting for the eventual landrush. When the landrush started the number of domains rose exponentially as squatters scanned the dictionary looking for interesting words and the telephone book for domain names.Fast forward a number of years and where are we now?- squatters still squat- internet group added more TLDs diluting the pool, however, .com is still the most desirable- and even google is cashing in. I tried to register a domain like ‘a.systems’ and google wanted $1500 but when I tried ‘aaaa.systems’ it was $20.Here is godaddy’s results (similar to google)This is terribly frustrating.
