What Is After Golang

Posted at — Jul 25, 2020

I’m sad that the golang team is even entertaining generics. What’s worse is that I just discovered that I can register golang functions as SQLite extensions.

A common question, however, is why would generics put me in this “place” where I’m ready to abandon it? And actually the answer is pretty simple and it’s derived from just about any other integrity question. If the golang authors, who were strictly against generics, spontaneously changed their minds then you have to ask were they wrong before or are they wrong now. What part about their conviction changed and what about the other “things” that I depend on will they change?

So now the question is what’s next?… tcl, nim, lua, tcc?
